What can Avocet Photography offer you?
Knowledge, commitment, enthusiasm, reliability, an artistic eye and hopefully a decent photo or two!
I have over the last ten years had over work used in the UK national press, on TV, in Trade and Technical magazines/newsletters home and abroad, countless websites, corporate publicity material, etc, having problems getting on radio though!
Please note copyright to some of these images used on the site rests with clients and therefore are unavailable to others.
About me
Avocet Photography, based in Wigan, Lancashire, was founded on a full time basis in September 2004, after nearly 30 years of amateur and latterly semi-professional photography.
My main interests lie in the following fields;
- The Environment, both local and global
- Rural and urban landscapes
- Social Documentary
- Railway Photography
- Nature Photography
- Action Photography
- Music Photography
- Sports Photography
- Conference/Exhibition Photography
Certain types of Photography work can’t be undertaken such as Weddings, Studio Portraiture, Award Ceremonies and Litigation commissions.
Building on my experiences as an Environmental Health Officer in Local Government and five year stint in the Press Office of ENCAMS, who front the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, I obtained a National Diploma in Photography in 2003. I have also had work experience at The Guardian newspaper and have had a short stint as picture editor at The MJ. Over the last decade my photographs have been published at a rate of about two shots a week.
